About CEO
My name is Edwin Cabigao
Edwin Cabigao, RN, Ph.D., is the distinguished owner and founder of Prax Learning Institute, a seasoned Executive Nurse Consultant with a multi-facility setting management background. As an Adjunct Professor in Masters-level Gerontology at SFSU and a published author of clinical and operational programs, Edwin is an expert in geriatric nursing, long-term/post-acute management, Survey Management, and specifically in OBRA/Title 22 regulations.

With a diverse professional profile, Edwin has served as a Program Director for a Vocational Nursing School, demonstrating proficiency in curriculum development and extensive & systematic clinical audits. His roles include that of a Legal Nurse Consultant and Nurse Expert Witness, showcasing his expertise in healthcare regulations as well as Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI).
Edwin's leadership extends to mentoring, where he excels in Executive Coaching, Staff Recruitment, Staff Retention, and overall Nursing Leadership. As a seasoned Director of Nursing with over 470+ beds, he has successfully implemented quality initiatives, performance improvement strategies, and culture change within healthcare organizations.
Having been a presenter at International Conferences in Berlin, Germany, and Rome, Italy, Edwin is recognized as an effective change leader and project manager. His bilingual capability in English and Tagalog, along with strategic visionary insights, sets him apart.
Moreover, Edwin was bestowed with the prestigious San Francisco State University (SFSU) School of Nursing ALUMNI OF THE YEAR AWARD in May 2013. This esteemed recognition celebrates his unwavering commitment to service, mentorship, professionalism, and lifelong dedication to advancing the field of Nursing. Adding to his accolades, Edwin also received the California Association of Healthcare Facilities (CAHF) NURSE OF THE YEAR AWARD in November 2022, further affirming his outstanding contributions to the healthcare industry.
